Music programs
Music is a part of the creative arts Key Learning Area. During lessons students experience, respond and perform to a variety of live and recorded music. Students move, play and sing to music to communicate ideas or understand how sounds are made.
Music is a big part of the daily class morning circle or morning meeting. Songs are used to communicate the day of the week, feelings and the weather.
Music may be used in numeracy or literacy programs, as part of assemblies or during visual arts. Music is often used to communicate a choice or as a sensory therapy.
Rhythm Village music therapy
Each week primary and high school class groups have the opportunity to participate in music therapy in the hall. Every session is filled with singing, movement, playing musical instruments, choice making, listening and a whole lot of fun.
Daniel from Rhythm Village visits our school every Monday to work with almost all the classes in the school.
